Cycle 2: Day 1
Well, let cycle 2 begin. Today was a whole different experience then when we started cycle 1. Last time, he was sooo sick from his cancer that we started to see him feel better with his chemo. Today was the opposite. He came in feeling great. They started his chemo this afternoon and pretty soon there after he started making a face like, “my mouth tastes funny” and then the throwing up began. I think he threw up 10-15 times tonight. Of course after a few times, there was nothing to throw up π It was really hard to watch. They explained that these are really intense chemo meds. We are trying to get ahead of this with anti-nausea medication and hopefully it will get a little better. I’m starting to realize the effects of these medications and they are no fun. Poor muffin just sits there turning so red, puking into his bucket.
Its back to hospital life for now. He is back on eye drops every 4 hours (aka waking up every 4 hours and screaming) So I’m not anticipating much sleep. I hope Mac knows that we are here for him.
On a better note, Mac has figured out how to fake laugh and it is adorable. He had our day nurse, me, and jeremy all cracking up! π He also popped a top tooth which is pretty cute too!
today’s little miracle: it was so great to see our wonderful in-patient nurses today. They are so sweet to Mac and our favorite nurse calls Mac her “little boyfriend”. It makes me smile every time. Bless her. Thank goodness for people that truly love what they do and make situations like this bearable.

Gut wrenching for sure!!! Tough little guy! & Mom & Dad aren’t any wimps, either! Way to go you two!! Just visited my third relative on CaringBridge…things are often soooo rough in this world. I was reading this morning Pres Monson’s talk from Sunday Afternoon, “I Will Not Fail Thee, nor Forsake Thee.” It was so comforting to be reminded that Heavenly Father knows us, loves us, and is ALWAYS with us. I know that to be true!
Continuing our prayers for your little family! Sure love you!!!!
