Day 4
The last few days have been pretty good! Mac is taking longer naps which is great because I’m almost sure he was sleep deprived last time. We brought in our big exercise ball to bounce him to sleep and it works like a charm- been doing that since he was a newborn! ๐ This is Day 4 and we have 8 days of chemo treatments. Then his numbers will drop and then recover.
So a few nights ago I was sitting with Mac on the couch and we were reading books when I felt my leg get wet. Then I looked down and saw that there was blood in Mac’s line! (that is NOT supposed to happen) I clamped the line and Jeremy got the nurse! The line actually came apart and instead of fluids going into Mac, Mac’s blood was going out. It was really scary and the nurse said she’s never seen a line do that before. She filed a report about it so someone will look into it. Its made me scared to sleep at night. That could have been REALLY bad if that happened at night. Blood would have just kept coming out of him… Needless to say, I fell asleep last night and woke up heart racing and panicked from a nightmare. That was the first time I’ve had a bad dream about Mac’s leukemia and treatment. I jumped up and was so relieved when I saw him sleeping soundly. I don’t know what I’d do without my little lovie.
This picture is an old one from the zoo! No, we aren’t outside strolling around just yet. But next year we’ll be back at the zoo for sure!
