Happy Valentine’s Day from Dr. Love
Today is Day 5. This morning at 2am he had his last does of ARA-C. That’s the chemo med he’s been getting the most of and the one causing fevers and rashes. So now he only gets 1 chemo med a day and has just 2 doses left!!! The chemo is blue! It’s creepy if you ask me. Looks like gatorade.
Well, we’ve made a significant discovery: Mac cannot have Benadryl. I’ve had a suspicion since the first cycle that it made him feel crazy, but back in the first cycle there was so much commotion and other problems to worry about that it was hard to single out the effects of the Benadryl. Poor baby just goes crazy and gets super agitated. He was screaming and making fists and flailing his arms last night. They said that sometimes Benadryl can have the opposite of the desired effects. Well, now we know! It finally wore off around 1:30am and he actually had a good nights rest. The night before he was up with fevers and throwing up. Thankfully he hasn’t had a fever in a couple days and he seems to be feeling better! I can’t wait for him to be done with treatment so he can just be a normal baby.
My mom came to stay with us while Jeremy is away for business for a couple days! She bought him a little giraffe to ride around on! Hopefully we can go on some walks outside the next few days. I think its supposed to be nice weather!
A shout out to my wonderful husband, my valentine. He is such an amazing daddy to Mac and I am so blessed to be your wife and eternal companion. Love you.
